How I Spend My Online Earnings

Many people think that it is the cars, money, fame and glory that make you happy in life. I believe that family is most important. Being able to work at home affords you more time to do what you want. I made a little video of how I spend my my internet earnings and time with the important people in my life and wanted to share it with you. Remember that working for yourself will bring you many more things than you ever expected and could imagine but spending it with the important people around you is priceless! What is most important to you? What will you do when your business gains success? Leave me a comment and let me know.

How To Plan Your First Sale

I remember the first time I wanted to start my own online business. I did not have any mentor or solid plan and failed miserably. I tried selling products for a popular company that is still in business today. It was my first introduction into drop shipping. It was not long before I was learning the pros and cons that came along with online sales. I was under the impression that all you had to do was build it and they would come. Little did I know I was in for a big surprise. I was about to learn a vital lesson of selling products on the internet.

YOU HAVE TO PLAN BEFORE YOU BUILD!!!
I had no idea about marketing and how important it was. I did not know that you have to pay taxes and shipping charges. I had no idea how much I should charge and that suggested retail prices companies use are not always the best prices to charge. I did not have any kind of blueprint to follow or system to use. The most important lesson I got out of that experience was, if you do anything without proper planning you are taking a huge risk. You are risking valuable time and money on something you have not properly thought out. My lesson I was learning was a prime example of this. But it also has made me smarter as a result of my efforts. I now know that, if you want to be successful in online sales or affiliate marketing you need to plan. Think about what you want to sell first and who your targeted market is. One question you have to ask yourself is would you buy what you are selling? Put yourself in the shoes of your customers and think like a customer. When you search online for products and information what peeks your interest?

Why are you buying from website (A) instead of website (B)?? These kinds of questions will make you better at finding a solid method to market your products(s), services or keep readers interested in your informational niche. I also think it is a good idea to be educated in what ever you are selling.

The more you know about what you are selling the better you will be at marketing it. There are so many people trying to sell everything including the Kitchen Sink these days. The trick is to be the best source for what people are looking for. This is key to being successful in any market. I remember having a sales person try to sell me a TV a few months back. This man was a sharp dresser well spoken and was very professional. He knew everything about televisions that anyone could think of asking and more. This guy was like some sort of TV Guru or something. But there was one huge problem that cost him his sale. I was shopping for an MP3 player not a TV. Bottom line is know your customer and product before you jump in for the sale. If you take those steps first you will be much more successful accomplishing your goals.

Putting The “Service” Back In “Customer Service”

Leave the Pain of Newsletter Design To Us - AWeber Email Marketing

The future of customer service is here. Technology has made seeking out support faster and easier than ever. But, has your digital age company sacrificed true service in the name of automation?

Today, finding customer support is as simple as writing an e-mail or picking up the phone. But, even though you’re not face-to-face with your customers, you still leave a lasting impression. Do you come across as caring and competent, or menacing and mechanical?

Offering stand-out service on the Internet isn’t as hard as it is rare. Take these simple steps towards old-style service in the digital age:

Give Each Customer a Personal Response

When a customer sits down to e-mail your company, it’s because he needs help. He chooses e-mail because it’s quick, but his request still warrants a satisfying and personal response!

Companies eager to save time and money often take automation too far in their customer support. Each customer has a unique question, and deserves a unique answer. Even if you save time by copying and pasting stock replies, change the opening and closing to make the message sound less robotic.

Be Clear, But Sincere

When responding to customers’ e-mail, be sincere and to the point. Before sending a message, try turning the tables. Ask yourself, “Would this answer satisfy me if I were the customer?”

Take that extra moment to give your customer the help he deserves. It might mean the difference between a satisfied customer and a credit card chargeback!

Offer Live Customer Support

E-mail has become an acceptable form of communication. But, live customer support is still necessary. The plethora of information available online can be overwhelming to customers, especially those new to the Internet!

Single your company out from the crowd by providing customers with a real person to talk to. Live phone support is an invaluable way to foster trust. When your customer has reached the end of his Internet rope, and just needs help, your toll free number is the answer he’s looking for.

Make Sure Your Support Reps Have All The Answers

The presence of phone support will do no good if your staff doesn’t know your product! Customer support reps should be warm and friendly, and willing to help with any aspect of your product.

What a good feeling it is to talk to someone who feels confident in his product. It’s even better if he’s knowledgeable enough to solve your problem without transferring you all around the company!

Provide Stand-Out Service; Gain Lifelong Customers

Too many e-businesses skimp on customer service, hiding behind web sites and message boards. Customer support is an integral part of every company, even those operating solely online. Be one of the few to offer stellar service, and gain customers for life!!!

Building Your First Business Website Without HTML

Before I made How 2 Work Online I had to learn so many basics and script. I had to learn HTML, Java, Flash and the list goes on. When most people view websites, they don’t really understand what it took and how much work was put into designing it. When you are a web designer you spend a great detail of time writing code. Although there are many programs that bring ease to coding. Creating good code is an art form and is a task that is always rewarding after your product is publishing for the World to enjoy.

However even though it is important to at least learn basic HTML coding you still have not lost the race. If you have a dead line to meet and need a quick solution to time constraints, here are some options. You can hire a Web designer that will create your website for you. There are however pros and cons about this option.

(PROS)

  1. Hiring someone else to create your site, frees up your time to work on other tasks for your business.

  2. There are some advanced features you might want to add to your site that your designer can do on a fly.

(CONS)

  1. Hiring someone can be an expensive option to use if your project has no budget.

  2. Having a designer work on your website, gives your web designer more control over your business website than you.

  3. Every time you want to update your website you will have to pay your designer to do little task you could have done in minutes. This can add up fast especially if you need to update weekly.

  4. I hate to break the news to you but most good designers cost thousands of dollars to produce custom websites.

Don’t worry people all is not lost yet I have a plan B. If you want a quick solution to this problem, here is a great way to solve it. I still recommend that you learn at least the basics of HTML but in the mean time try this out. Let’s face it, writing code is not for everyone. It requires some study hours and a little motivation to get over the learning curve. If that sounds like too much for you right now then this might be a better option. This option I want to introduce you to is called WYSIWYG. = WHAT YOU SEE IS WHAT YOU GET. If you at least have working knowledge of today’s word processing programs, then you can use this type of application. The way it works is simple to understand and use right out the box. The data you input into the program, including pictures etc, and the way they appear on your PC screen is the way that your website will appear online after published. This will give you total creative control over your project. You will not have to rely on someone else to create your website for you. Did I say you will save a bundle of money that you can now apply to new computers, printers etc for your business. If you are looking for something that will not break the bank then here is a company that comes to mind. This is a cool company SBI is one of the best I know and has been around for a while. If you want to get a jump start on setting up your website fast, you can check out this very great way to create a professional looking website. One more important thing that they can do is get your website highly ranked on Google Fast. They are worth checking out.
